VOLUME OF CURRENCY TRADES AT BICEX CLOSE TO $500 MILLION
According to BICEX’s PR office, International Bank of Azerbaijan, Joint-Stock Investment Bank “Azerigasbank”, commercial bank “Amrahbank”, joint stock commercial bank “ILKbank” and commercial bank “Rabitabank” has become the leaders of the currency market in accordance with the share of closed deals in the total volume of trades.
Altogether, 28 banks participated in the trades for US dollar in November 2003. For the last month, 17 trade sessions were conducted and 181 deals were closed. The volume of dollar trades has totaled 209 billion 763 million manat or USD 42,688 million in November. USD 29,759 million or 70 percent out of the total volume of November deals falls to the share of the BEST. The weighted rate of AZM against USD made up 4913,87 in November while in October it was 4911,45. The volume of RUR and EUR deals totaled 2,346 billion manat.
The volume of trades for January-November at BICEX made up $493,8 million, which is 4,7-fold more than that of the same period last year.
