ARGENTINA, CHINA SIGN $10 BILLION RAILWAYS COOPERATION PACT
Baku, July 14 (AZERTAC). Argentina and China Tuesday signed an agreement under which China will invest $10 billion in the South American country`s railways sector.
The agreement calls for China to invest in 10 separate rail projects in Argentina, including in the construction of railway lines and railway equipment over the next two to five years, said Juan Pablo Schiavi, secretary of transport in Argentina`s Planning Ministry.
Among these is a $2.5 billion rail project in the capital, Buenos Aires, he said.
The agreement came during a visit to China by Argentina President Cristina Fernandez.
