Azerbaijan attends workshop on Energy labeling implementation in Kyrgyzstan
Baku, July 25 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani delegation has participated in a workshop entitled “Support to Appliances Energy Labelling, Energy Certification of Buildings and Energy Saving Potential in Partner Countries” in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
According to the State Statistics Committee, Azerbaijani experts made speeches on boosting use of alternative and renewable energy resources, how to make energetic statistics and other issues.
The event has been organized by a project “Energy Saving Initiative in the Building Sector in the Eastern European and Central Asian Countries (ESIB)” within INOGATE programme.
The objective of the workshop was to provide information on the implementation and support to energy product labelling in countries, energy labels for buildings and building performance certificates, as well as to present the results of ESIB international experts` analysis on energy saving potential in partner countries - general methodology and two case studies - Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
The discussion was focused on the methods and tools planned to be used while dealing with legal issues, public awareness, capacity building as well as relations between different stakeholders, considering the experience of the European (old and new EU members) and other countries in developing and implementing labelling. Besides, economical, technological, ecological and social benefits were underlined, related to expansion of labelling or energy performance certification of buildings and appliances.
The workshop was attended by representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to the Kyrgyz Republic, Ministry of Energy and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, representatives of several partner countries and international experts.
