Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan discuss bilateral relations
Bishkek, May 1 (AZERTAC). Prime Minister of Kyrgyz Republic Omurbek Babanov met Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Intergovernmental Cooperation Commission`s Chairman for Azerbaijan, First Deputy Prime Minister Yaqub Eyyubov on the sidelines of the commission’s first meeting.
Babanov underscored development of bilateral relations, adding cooperation between the two countries marked a new era of development.
“The commission`s meeting has been held for the first time during the years of independence and achieved successful results. Kyrgyzstan`s President Almazbek Atambayev’s visit to Azerbaijan, meeting with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and successful negotiations indicate that both countries are keen on developing the relations. I am sure that the agreements will be implemented shortly,” said the Kyrgyz Prime Minister.
Babanov stressed the Azerbaijan’s decision on construction of an oil refinery in Kyrgyzstan and establishment of the working group. He called Azerbaijani owners to participate in other investment projects in energy and banking sectors of Kyrgyzstan.
Eyyubov thanked the Kyrgyz party for `excellent` organization of the event.
Azerbaijan also plans construction of large and small hydro power plants in Kyrgyzstan.
