AZERBAIJAN MILLI MAJLIS SPEAKER MEETS POLISH MINISTER OF NATIONAL DEFENSE
Baku, November 26 (AZERTAC). Speaker of Azerbaijan Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov has met today visiting Polish Minister of National Defense Bogdan Klich.
Asadov said documents signed during reciprocal visits by the presidents of Azerbaijan and Poland contribute to boosting relationship between the two countries.
He particularly stressed the importance of the document on defense signed between the two countries relevant ministries in 2005.
Touching upon inter-parliamentary ties, Asadov praised the fact that friendship groups exist in the two countries` legislative bodies.
On the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, the speaker said it is a source of threat to development of the region. “We are glad that Poland recognizes Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity, and always makes its relevant stance known within international organizations.”
Asadov noted Poland, as a member of NATO, supports Azerbaijan`s integration into the Alliance. “We are sure that Poland will adhere to the principles of international law to support the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.”
Bogdan Klich, in turn, said relations between Poland and Azerbaijan are developing in various areas, including in military one. “Our parliaments have good cooperation both bilaterally and within the Council of Europe.”
The sides also exchanged views on prospects for development of bilateral relations.
