AZERBAIJAN PARLIAMENT SPEAKER MEETS HEAD OF IRAN`S IMAM KHOMEINI IMDAD COMMITTEE
Baku, November 12 (AZERTAC). Speaker of Azerbaijan Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov has today met head of Iran`s Imam Khomeini Imdad Committee Huseyn Anvari.
The talks focused on relations between Azerbaijan and Iran in various spheres including humanitarian one.
Asadov said religious and cultural ties between “our countries” contribute to boosting bilateral cooperation. He added development of relationship between Azerbaijan and Iran serve the interest of the two countries` peoples.
He also praised the Imdad Committee`s work in Azerbaijan.
Touching upon interparliamentary ties, the Speaker described them as “good”.
He added friendship groups operate in the two countries` legislative bodies.
Huseyn Anvari conveyed greetings of the Iranian parliament`s speaker to Ogtay Asadov.
He said the Imdad Committee was one of the first humanitarian organizations to start working in Azerbaijan.
The sides discussed other issues of mutual concern.
