Azerbaijan Press Council, OSCE Baku Office launch new project
Baku, April 27 (AZERTAC). A program initiated by the Azerbaijani Press Council and OSCE Baku Office, supported by the Public TV was televised. The program is being implemented in the frame of new project "Discussions in the media relations between press and society".
The project aims at supporting the formation of a mechanism of the society's effective influence to remove related problems by bringing together urgent problems of the Azerbaijani media and presenting them to the society.The first program joined by the head of the OSCE Office in Baku Koray Turgay, the Chairman of Press Council Aflatun Amashov and other media captains, was dedicated to economic problems of Azerbaijani media. One of the main goals is a rapprochement between Azerbaijani journalism and citizens, as well as to strengthen the relations between the society and the media.
The project will be completed by late 2012. It is planned to organize TV programs with representatives of OSCE Baku office, the joint venture, the leading media outlets having influence on public opinion within the project.
The economic problems of the media outlets, the problems with journalists' education, the issues of new media outlets, defamation, etc. will be discussed at the programs.
The discussion participants have made certain proposals and recommendations to improve economic state of mass media in the country.
