AZERBAIJANI ATHLETES SUCCEED IN INTERNATIONAL TAEKWONDO AND WUSHU TOURNAMENT
This tournament considered as small Olympic games brought together over 900 athletes from 16 countries competing in 10 disciplines. The national team led by wushu international master and referee, 6 dan, black belt holder Zahid Veliyev was consisted of Rafat Asadov, Ulvi Asadov, Tural Javadov, Ahmed Adigozelzade, Samir Salmanov and Kamran Manafov. National team won the world cup in exemplary performances. As representatives of “Dogguz Teref” Wushu Sport club they competed in the wushu and chi gun styles. In tao, Rafat Asadov ranked second, Ahmad Adigozelzade – third. In these competitions, Spain ranked second while Germany – third.
National taekwondo team led by president of the Hap Ki Do Federation, international referee Suleyman Mammadli was composed of six athletes. In WTF taekwondo, Suleyman Mammadli ranked first among masters while Ulvi Tahmazov (60 kg), Sabina Kerimova (60 kg) took the first spot and Polad Khankishiyev – third in junior section. In men’s section, Seymur Aliyev (60 kg), Sadig Dadashov (70 kg) ranked first while Agil Allahverdiyev (80 kg) – third.
In ITF taekwondo, Suleyman Mammadli and Seymur Aliyev ranked second in masters and men sections respectively. Azerbaijani team ranked second. Germany took the first place while Poland – third.
