Morocco's king expresses solidarity with Saudi Arabia after Houthi attacks

Moroccan King Mohammed VI has expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia following Houthi strikes on Saudi territory, Anadolu Agency reported.
"The security and stability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia—like that of the other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states—is an integral part of the security of the Kingdom of Morocco," he said in separate telegrams on Saturday to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
"Any attack on Saudi Arabia is an attack on Morocco," he added.
Expressing deep concern over attacks targeting civilian and economic facilities, critical infrastructure, cities and residential areas in Saudi Arabia, the king said attempts to target the holy city of Mecca had drawn further condemnation of the attacks.
Yemen has been mired in conflict since the Houthis seized Sanaa and several provinces in 2014, prompting a Saudi-led coalition to intervene in 2015 in support of Yemen's internationally recognized government.
The conflict has recently spilled into Saudi Arabia, with Houthi attacks targeting the kingdom, including its oil infrastructure, following the group’s declaration of a maritime blockade in July.
