Azerbaijani Ombudsperson attends meeting of OSCE`s Human Dimension Committee
Baku, April 20 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani Ombudsperson Elmira Suleymanova has attended a meeting of the Human Dimension Committee of the OSCE in Vienna.
During the meeting Suleymanova presented the National Action Program for increasing efficiency of protection of human rights and freedoms in the Republic of Azerbaijan approved by President Ilham Aliyev on December 27 2011.
Suleymanova spoke of the reforms carried out in her country to strengthen protection of human rights, cooperation between Ombudsman’s Office and state bodies, NGOs, media outlets and international organizations.
The Ombudsperson said at the meeting the rights of more than one million Azerbaijanis, driven out from their lands in the wake of Armenia`s aggressive policy against Azerbaijan, were brutally violated.
Chairperson of the Human Dimension Committee of the OSCE, Thomas Greminger thanked Suleymanova for the presentation.
