AZERBAIJANI PRESIDENT: ONLY WAY TO SOLVE CONFLICT IS LIBERATION OF AZERBAIJAN`s LANDS
Baku, 21 November (AZERTAC). President Ilham Aliyev said the only way to solve the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh is liberation of Azerbaijan`s lands from occupation.
“We`ve been sparing no efforts to achieve this,” the Azerbaijani leader told a ceremony to inaugurate a settlement for IDPs in one of the country`s regions.
“We`ve been developing our economy and strengthening our armed forces to make our country more powerful.”
The President also highlighted the government`s policy to “completely eliminate poverty” in the country.
“There mustn`t be the poor in Azerbaijan, and this is what our social policy is aimed at.”
The President said: “Azerbaijan possesses necessary potential to get it done. We create these beautiful settlements. This requires huge funds. We do this by ourselves, I mean, with our own funds - the budget spending and the funds of the State Oil Fund. And we will continue doing it because the people`s life standards should be improved.”
“People who suffered from war, occupation or the policy of ethnic cleansing must always be taken care of by the government,” added the Azerbaijani leader.
The President said: “It is Heydar Aliyev`s oil strategy and Azerbaijan`s economic development that help us achieve our goals.”
