Azerbaijan`s Justice Minister meets International Anti-Corruption Academy`s officials
Baku, February 15 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Justice Minister and chairman of Judicial-Legal Council Fikrat Mammadov met on Tuesday with chair of the International Transition Team of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) Martin Kreutner, his counselors, Austrian Ex-Minister of Justice Claudia Bandion-Ortner and US former prosecutor Suzanne Hayden.
Fikrat Mammadov provided information on the fight against corruption in the country under Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev`s leadership as well as creation of telephone hot lines in judicial bodies and other measures.
Azerbaijani Minister highlighted transparent and objective selection of judges in Europe praising the fact that “Council of Europe and European Union evaluate Azerbaijan`s experience in this field as a model”.
Fikrat Mammadov briefed the officials on Azerbaijan`s cooperation with authoritative international organizations as well as the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA).
Martin Kreutner praised the progress achieved in anticorruption sphere in Azerbaijan stressing the country`s active cooperation to the effect.
He also underlined the significance of Azerbaijan`s joining the International Anticorruption Academy`s statute and bilateral meetings as part of the international conferences.
They also familiarized themselves with the Justice History Museum in the Ministry.
