Azeri delegation of ICT attends ITU conference in Mexican city Guadalajara
Baku, October 15 (AZERTAC). Azeri delegation led by Ali Abbasov, Minister of Communications and Information Technologies attended International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Plenipotentiary Conference in Mexican city Guadalajara on October 10-13, according to press service of Azerbaijan Embassy to the United Mexican States.
Azeri minister met with Dr Hamadoun Toure, Secretary-General of ITU to exchange views on issues of mutual interest and made a speech in the meeting of African countries within the conference.
Azeri minister familiarized with the activities of “Telmex” and “Telcel” companies of “Grupo Carso” and also held a meeting with Edgar Elias Azar, the head of the Mexico City Superior Court to discuss development of the legal basis for protection in information-communication technologies field.
Another meeting was held between Azeri minister and Xuan Fransisco Molinar Orkhasitas, Mexican Ministrer of Communication and Transport. The meeting featured discussions on development of bilateral relations and boosting cooperation in this field between the countries.
Agreement on cooperation in information-communication technologies was signed between Azerbaijan and Mexico.
Azeri minister also participated in the official presentation on putting stamps into circulation on occasion of 200th anniversary of Mexican Independence and 100th anniversary of Mexican Revolution.
The stamps have been made by postal services of Azerbaijan and Mexico on topic “Historical Places”.
The visit of Azerbaijan Minister of Communications and Information Technologies had been in the spotlight with the local mass media.
