BAKU HOSTS INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON INTERCIVILIZATIONAL DIALOGUE
Baku, November 11 (AZERTAC). An international conference entitled “Intercivilizational dialogue: Azerbaijani perspective” has kicked off in the Azeri capital to mark the 40th anniversary of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, OIC.
The conference is co-organized by the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) and OIC General Secretariat.
The 2-day event brings together about 200 scholars and experts from 41 countries and 3 international organizations, local and foreign officials and representatives of the diplomatic corps to discuss religious and cultural diversity, interreligious dialogue and Islamic geopolitics.
Key speakers on the conference`s first day included OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, Azerbaijan`s Deputy Foreign Minister Hafiz Pashayev and Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims` Board Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade.
The second day of the conference will feature “ADA Majlis” public TV forum, a joint venture between the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy and ITV, Azerbaijan`s Public Television Network.
