BTC Co COUNCIL OF DIRECTORS’ MEETING HELD
Council of Directors of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Co (BTC Co) held a meeting in Tbilisi, where the current situation on the construction of main export pipeline in the territories of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, as well as the work on documents related to the Environment Impact and Social Sphere Assessment was discussed.As AzerTAj correspondent was informed from the Azerbaijan International Operation Company (AIOC), the Council of Directors stressed their satisfaction with the real success achieved in both spheres. They also met with the members of special commission on support for the Projects of President of Georgia Eduard Shevardnadze and East-West corridor. During the meeting, both the President of Georgia and commission members highly appreciated the implemented work. Members of the Council visited Rustavi city and Gardabani region of Georgia, where were interested with delivery of pipes to the storehouse and construction of pump station. The construction of the pipe goes on according to the schedule in the Georgian territory. Preparatory works are being conducted for the construction of the first pipelines in August. 75-80% of employees are locals. The pipeline will be ready early in 2005.
