Baku, November 23 (AZERTAC). Chairman of the NGO Governmental Support Council under the President of Azerbaijan, MP Azay Guliyev has met with the delegation of the European Economic and Social Committee led by its rapporteur Andrzej Adamczyk

Guliyev expressed his discontent with some items concerning civil society in Azerbaijan of the Committee`s opinion on “Civil society involvement in implementing the ENP Action Plans in the countries of the Southern Caucasus”. Guliyev was dissatisfied with the incorrect information about NGO`s activity and establishment of NGO forum in the country and not mentioning serious steps the government has taken to develop NGO sector over past years.

Guliyev pointed out that transparency is not sufficient in the process of establishment of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum.

The European Committee’s delegation pledged to learn of Council`s stance when preparing such kind of reports.
