Astana, November 27, AZERTAC
Azerbaijan demonstrated exemplary organization for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, said Bekezhan Zhakeev, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of the NJSC International Green Technologies and Investment Projects Center, in an interview with AZERTAC.
Noting that representatives from various countries came together at the conference with a shared commitment to combating climate change, Zhakeev emphasized that COP29 provided a platform for discussing perspectives and identifying key directions for collaboration in addressing environmental concerns.
"This is a truly remarkable event. Such events remind us to rediscover our sacred respect for our common home—Earth, and help us realize that only through joint efforts can we make effective decisions," he said.
Zhakeev also described the climate deal reached regarding the annual allocation of financial resources to developing countries as a major step forward.
Highlighting the green economy transition, he stressed that large-scale investments are required to make this transformation possible. "New global trends are driving business action on climate change adaptation," he underscored.
