Culture Minister Adil Karimli meets Tajik counterpart in Dushanbe

A bilateral meeting between Azerbaijan’s Culture Minister Adil Karimli and his Tajik counterpart Matlubakhon Sattoriyen was held at the National Library of Tajikistan.
Before the meeting, the ministers toured the library and were given detailed information about the collection where historical and rare manuscripts are preserved.
Tajik Minister of Culture Matlubakhon Sattoriyen described the Days of Azerbaijani Culture as a cultural event that brings the two nations closer together. She expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture for its support in successfully organizing the Days of Tajik Culture in Azerbaijan and for the productive meetings held.
Adil Karimli, in turn, expressed gratitude to the Tajik side for their warm hospitality toward the Azerbaijani delegation. He emphasized that the sincere and friendly relations between the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Tajikistan play an essential role in the comprehensive development of bilateral ties. He described the signing of the "Declaration on Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Tajikistan" by Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Emomali Rahmon in Baku on May 23, 2024, as a sign of the growing cooperation between the two friendly nations.
Adil Karimli noted that there are promising prospects for further expanding cultural cooperation between the two countries. He added that the Azerbaijani Embassy in Dushanbe consistently supports the development of cultural relations. Karimli reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s keen interest in advancing cooperation in cinema, libraries, cultural heritage, and other fields.
He noted that a regional office of ICESCO was recently opened in Baku, and that the office will coordinate cooperation not only with Azerbaijan but also with the Central Asian republics, including Tajikistan.
As Lachin was declared the Cultural Capital of the CIS for 2025, the Azerbaijani minister invited his Tajik counterpart to attend the opening ceremony scheduled for early June.
