European Commission releases annual report on Azerbaijan`s development

Baku, May 16 (AZERTAC). The European Commission has published an annual report on Azerbaijan`s development within the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP).

The main aspects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the EU in 2011 and the recommendations of the European Union regarding the different fields were reflected in the document.

The document says: “Azerbaijan is rapidly developing. It broadly maintained macroeconomic stability, reduced poverty and encouraged the diversification of the economy. Negotiations on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the Minsk Group led to no tangible results in 2011. Amidst increasing tension along the Line of Contact, mediation efforts resulted in marginal progress on the investigation of the violation of the ceasefire agreement.
