First European Conference on Patient Empowerment due in Copenhagen
Baku, April 10 (AZERTAC). The Danish Committee for Health Education, Careum, World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe and the European Network for Patient Empowerment (ENOPE) will hold a two-day conference on the contribution of patient and citizen empowerment to the future of health and social care in Europe.
Issues such as greater access to information and knowledge, increasing use of social media, experience with self-management programmes, the new legal requirements for patient involvement, the reorganization of health care systems and the availability of new technologies will be discussed. All of these issues are creating a new dynamic through which patients and citizens are redefining their role in relation to health and social care. ENOPE believe this to be the critical shift towards building an approach to health and social care appropriate for the 21st century.
The conference takes place in Copenhagen and is being organized under the auspices of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union-the Ministry of Health, the National Board of Health and with company of WHO Regional Office for Europe.
