FLAG RAISING CEREMONY HELD IN AZERBAIJAN`S EMBASSY IN PAKISTAN

Baku, 18 November (AZERTAC). A ceremony to mark raising Azerbaijan`s state flag in a newly constructed building of the embassy in Pakistan took place Tuesday here.

Ambassador Eynulla Madatli said it is very important that the event coincides with the Day of National Revival of Azerbaijan.

The diplomat noted Azerbaijan`s state flag was adopted in a meeting of the government of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) on November 9, 1918.

He added the flag was approved in a session of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Supreme Assembly at the initiative of national leader Heydar Aliyev on November 17, 1990, 70 years since ADR`s downfall.

Turkish ambassador to Pakistan Mustafa Babur and head of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Representative Office Hasiba Shahoglu attended the event.
