Golden cup cake unveiled in Dubai
Baku, July 24 (AZERTAC). The most expensive cupcake in the world, which made out of gold sheets, has been unveiled. The cup cake is aptly named as “Golden Phoenix,”. The cake is coated in edible 23 carat gold sheets and is up for sale with a price tag of $1,010 (Dh 3.700).
The cake can only be found at the Bloomsbury cupcake shop which is conveniently located in the Dubai Mall. Bloomsbury began offering the sweet treat for sale this past Thursday to any consumer willing to spend the cash.
After several months of speculation by avid food bloggers, the bakers rolled out the most expensive `edible` cupcake, on an Italian, Villari 24 carat gold plated Maria Antoinette Princess Tea Trolley and presented on 24 carat gold painted Empire Morning Cake Stand with Cloch.
This high-priced cupcake is said to be made using only organic flour and butter imported from the UK, Italian chocolate and vanilla beans from Uganda. The cupcake is served along a golden spoon, topped with chocolate icing and strawberries dipped in edible gold, all on top of a 24-carat gold stand.
“We have seen people attempt expensive cupcakes before, however, those are not edible as they are incrusted with diamonds and other components. That is why we decided that we would take the realistic approach and present the most expensive edible cupcake in the world” said Mr Vinay Lall, General Manager of Tablez Food Company, which owns the concept of Bloomsbury`s.
The cupcake is available to order from the Dubai Mall`s Bloomsbury`s outlet. Each order is expected to take 48 hours to complete.
