Khojaly genocide victims commemorated abroad
Baku, February 28 (AZERTAC). Germany`s “Die Welt” newspaper published an article on Khojaly events, and Nagorno-Karabakh conflict by journalist Knut Teske. The article informs readers on 1992 February 26 Khojaly events, Armenia`s ethnic cleansing policy against Azerbaijanis. The author underlines that so-called “Nagorno-Karabakh Republic” has not been recognized by any countries and international organizations, adding Europe also suffers from this conflict. The author also touches on his visit to the refugee camp in Azerbaijan in 2010 and shares his impressions about their living conditions.

Azerbaijan`s Consulate General in Los Angeles has done a lot to educate people on Khojaly events. As part of these events “Refugee: The Life Story of Anar Usubov” film was displayed on local channels. The film narrates the Khojaly events through the eyes of Khojaly resident Anar Usubov.

“Vatan” Society in Denmark organized a commemorative event dedicated to the 20th anniversary Khojaly genocide. Chairman of the Society Safar Sadigi briefed the attendees on Khojaly events, describing it as a crime against humanity. The participants were presented films, booklets and brochures on Khojaly events.

The French newspaper “Dernieres Nouvelles d`Alzace” published an article on a rally held in the central square of Strasbourg Kleber in connection with the 20th anniversary of Khojaly genocide. The article briefs readers on the Khojaly events. The author underlines that Azerbaijanis spare no efforts for recognition of Khojaly events as genocide.
The article features information on unfullfilment of four resolutions of the UN on the unconditional withdrawal of all Armenian forces from all occupied territories of Azerbaijan.

“Sette Fontane” theatre of Milan hosted a commemorative event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Khojaly genocide. The event was organized by Azerbaijan Cultural Relations Society with support of Azerbaijan`s Embassy in Italy. The event was attended by nearly 170 representatives including Italian and Turkish community. The participants were informed on Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict as well as Khojaly events. A clip on the most terrible massacre of the 20th century was screened at the event.
