LEGAL STATUS OF CASPIAN SEA DISCUSSED IN TURKMENISTAN
Baku, November 5 (AZERTAC). The 26th meeting of the ad-hoc working group at the deputy foreign ministers level today has started in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. Representatives of all five Caspian littoral states - Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan will discuss the legal status of the Caspian Sea.
In the first day of meeting, the sides paid particular attention to merchant shipping, elaboration and use of hydrocarbon resources of the Caspian Sea, delimitation of the seabed and construction of underwater pipelines. Representatives of Foreign Ministries praised draft agreement on Caspian security discussed in Baku, on October 22-23 of the current year.
A meeting is underway.
