LINGUISTIC LABORATORIES OPENED IN BSU
On this occasion, Minister of Education of Azerbaijan Misir Mardanov and Ambassador of Japan to Azerbaijan Toshiyuki Fujivara cut the symbolic red ribbon, AzerTAj correspondent reports.
Addressing the participants, rector of the University, corresponding member of National Academy of Sciences /ANAS/ Abel Maharramov noted that laboratories were opened due to $350 thousand Japanese grant. He expressed gratitude to the government of Japan, Ambassador Fujivara, the relevant firms of Japan.
Mr. Maharramov touched on development of Azerbaijan-Japan relations, role of national leader Heydar Aliyev in establishment of the bridge of friendship between the two countries. He expressed confidence that due to the efforts of President Ilham Aliyev, these relations would become stronger. He also updated that six students of the University would graduate bachelor’s degree on Japanese language. We hope that they will magistrate in Japan, rector said.
Minister of Education Misir Mardanov thanked Ambassador for care of Azerbaijan education. He noted that within past three years, 32 schools have been built due to $2 mln 400 thousand Japanese grant.
Mr. Toshiyuki Fujivara, for his turn, told on interest of his country to the Silk Route region, expansion of politico-economic cooperation with the countries of Southern Caucasus and Middle Asia, participation of Japanese companies in oil projects of Azerbaijan.
He reminded that since 1992, Japan has rendered 1bln 830 mln dollars to 5 Middle Asian counties, within past four years - 430 mln to Azerbaijan, 107 mln - Georgia, and 101 mln - Armenia.
In conclusion, Abel Maharramov on behalf of the professor-teaching staff and students presented gift to the Ambassador Toshiyuki Fujiara.
