MEETING TO MARK HUMAN RIGHTS DAY HELD IN BERLIN
Berlin, December 14 (AZERTAC). A meeting on “Truth - a path leading to peace” was held here on the occasion of the International Human Rights Day. The meeting dealt with “Forgotten victims - Jews and Azerbaijanis in Caucasus”.
European parliament member Eduard Lintner condemned Armenia`s aggressive policy against Azerbaijan, and stressed the need for Europe`s active participation in resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Azerbaijani ambassador to Germany Parviz Shahbazov told of crimes committed by Armenians in Guba, Shamakhy and Khojaly.
Director of the European Azerbaijani Society Namati-Nasab said rights of a million refugees and IDPs were grossly violated as a result of the conflict. He noted international organizations use double standards towards Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the event, chairman of the Eurocaucasus Society, professor of universities of Bonn and Berlin Eva Maria Auch reported on “Azerbaijan Jews - forgotten community”.
The book “Death marches” by late professor Rovshan Mustafayev was presented at the event.
A presentation of the Justice for Khojaly campaign in German was held at the event. The campaign is initiated by general coordinator of the General Coordinator of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation Leyla Aliyeva.
The meeting initiated by the Azerbaijanis Coordinating Center in Germany and supported by the European Azerbaijanis Society was attended by representatives of the Caucasus-European Culture and Science Society, Azerbaijan-Germany Relations Development Society, members of German parliament, NGOs, Berlin Jewish community, Azerbaijani and Turkish Diaspora activists, journalists and students.
