National leader Heydar Aliyev`s 89th anniversary marked in Serbia
Baku, May 11 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Embassy in Serbia has organized an event to mark the 89th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
The event brought together representatives of the Serb and the Muslim communities, leaders of the Serbian-Azerbaijan Commerce Chamber and Azerbaijani Culture Center in Belgrade, leadership of the Belgrade City Hall, Azerbaijanis studying in Serbia and the media.
First, the event attendees visited the monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev in Tashmaydan Park in Belgrade and laid bunch of flowers on the monument. Moreover, the delegation put the flowers in front of the memorials erected to the memory of the well-known Serbian writer Milorad Pavichin and the memory called "We just were children" children who died during the NATO bombing in 1999.
At the event went on at the Azerbaijan`s Embassy in Serbia the participants spoke about the national leader`s lifetime and activity.
Other speakers noted national leader Heydar Aliyev`s contribution to Azerbaijan`s development, saying his policy is today successfully is continued by President Ilham Aliyev.
As a result of national leader Heydar Aliyev`s and President Ilham Aliyev`s policy, Azerbaijan became a leading country in the region.
Participants also viewed a documentary on the national leader`s life and activity.
