REGULAR OANA EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING WRAPS UP IN TEHRAN
Tehran, November 18 (AZERTAC). The 31st OANA Executive Board Meeting “A quest for global media balancing” and the 25th Editorial-Technical Experts Group meeting ended Tuesday in the capital of Iran.
The event brought together more than 40 representatives from 18 governmental and non-governmental news agencies from the Asia-Pacific states. AZERTAC`s delegation in the event was led by deputy editor-in-chief Yashar Guluzade.
The meeting was addressed by Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Hossein Saffar-Harandi, President of OANA Ahmad Mukhlis Yusuf, Managing Director of Mehr News Agency Parviz Esmaeili, employee of AZERTAC Ilyas Rafibayli and others. Speakers said the position of OANA had strengthened even more among world news organizations.
Ilyas Rafibayli read out a report of AZERTAC Director-General Aslan Aslanov saying the agency gained all its achievements thanks to national leader Heydar Aliyev`s attention. “This attention is continued President Ilham Aliyev as well”.
He said AZERTAC wires the round-the-clock news in Azerbaijani, English and Russian languages covering all spheres of life in Azerbaijan including politics, economy, culture, sports, health, science and education, as well as environment.
He noted AZERTAC is interested in cooperation with the world`s all leading news agencies.
The event participants were presented with diplomas and keepsakes.
They were also received by Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and foreign minister Manouchehr Mottaki.
