SOCAR announces increase of gas extraction in July
Baku, August 17 (AZERTAC). Natural gas production of Azerbaijan increased in July by 6.04% compared to June 2012.
The State Statistics Committee (SSC) informs that over Jan-July 2012 the country was produced 10.284 bn cu m of gas. Gas production totaled 2.415 bn cu m in January, 629.6 million cu m in February, 1.527 bn cu m in March, 1.389 bn cu m in April, 1.428 bn cu m in May, 1.4 bn cu m in June and 1.484 bn in July.
Last year, the country produced 25.7 bn cu m of gas (-2.2% versus production in 2010). In December 2011 production reached 1.95 bn cu m against 2.144 bn cu m in November and 2.257 bn in October (the best indicator in 2011).
Peak gas production by SOCAR was recorded in 2009 - 7.75 bn cu m and by the country as a whole in 2010 - 26.349 bn cu m.
In 2011, peak production by the Company was registered in May when SOCAR extracted 609.7 million cu m and the country as a whole in October (2.26 bn cu m).
