STUDENT OF MONTANA UNIVERSITY HONORED WITH HEYDAR ALIYEV AWARD

Baku, May 3 (AZERTAC). Student of Montana State University Colin Daniel was awarded the Heydar Aliyev award in 2010 for the excellent preparation and realization of the course “Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation”. The annual Heydar Aliyev Award is provided for the American students who have distinguished themselves in Azerbaijan and the Eurasian region studies. The award was founded by the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles in 2008.

The Awards was handed over to Colin Daniel by Consul General Elin Suleymanov while he was visiting the University.

The BSEC course is led by Professor Thomas Goltz at the Political Science Faculty of Montana State University, and was realized with the support of the consulate.

Elin Suleymanov also held a seminar for teachers and students at the University`s Energy Center. He described Azerbaijan`s role in energy security, as well as the country`s policy to develop alternative energy sources and improve the ecological situation.
