TURKISH FM: TURKEY WILL CONTINUE BACKING AZERBAIJAN
Ankara, July 14 (AZERTAC). “We will continue supporting Azerbaijan,” Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said in a written reply to a question on Nagorno-Karabakh and Turkey-Armenia relations lodged by MP Suleyman Yagiz.
He stressed Azerbaijan-Turkey relationship occupies an exceptional place and the Government of Turkey keep its word on this matter. Rapprochement with Armenia has never overshadowed Interests of Azerbaijan.
Ahmet Davutoglu went on to say that the atmosphere of conflicts in the South Caucasus region damages all countries and the main aim of signing Turkey-Armenia protocols was to achieve stability. Protocols must be first ratified by the parliament.
“We reiterated normalization of Turkey-Armenia relations is not enough for establishing peace and stability in the region. Concrete results must be achieved on the resolution of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict as well. These processes must be continued concurrently”
