United Nations Security Council resolution 822 turns 19
Baku, April 30 (AZERTAC). The UN Security Council resolution 822, which calls for the cessation of hostilities and withdrawal of occupying forces from Kelbajar district of Azerbaijan following its occupation on April 3, 1993, turns 19.
The United Nations Security Council resolution 822, adopted unanimously on 30 April 1993, demanded the immediate cessation of hostilities and the immediate withdrawal of Armenian occupying forces in the Kalbajar district near Nagorno-Karabakh in Azerbaijan.
During the occupation, the people became refugees and historical monuments were destroyed.
Up to now, the UN resolutions have not been yet fulfilled.
