US DEPUTY ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF STATE VISITS AZERBAIJAN
Baku, May 12 (AZERTAC). US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Tina Kaidanow has arrived in Baku for a one-day visit to discuss a variety of issues of mutual interest.
During the visit, Kaidanow is expected to meet Azerbaijani officials and representatives of civil society.
In a brief talk with journalists, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State said the United States considers Azerbaijan as “important” partner. The US official stated the two countries share common interests in various questions, including gas and oil projects under the Southern corridor, energy security, fight against terror and extremism.
“The United States praises Azerbaijan`s contribution to promoting regional and global security in Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq,” Kaidanow said.
