WADA postpones 2026 Regional Symposium for Europe scheduled in Baku

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) announced that it has postponed WADA’s Regional Symposium for Europe that was scheduled to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan on March18-19, 2026, due to the escalating conflict in the Middle East.
According to the Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA), WADA decided to hold its Executive Committee (ExCo) meeting, originally scheduled to take place in Baku ahead of the symposium, online.
WADA said the decision was not taken lightly and thanked the hosts — the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan and AMADA — for their hospitality and support. Following a thorough assessment of possible air travel disruptions and logistical considerations, it was deemed necessary to take this step.
