YAP VOICE PROTEST TO EURONEWS
Baku, December 2 (AZERTAC). The New Azerbaijan Party has sent a letter of protest to the Euronews TV channel over the video report about Nagorno-Karabakh.
“The video “Wind of Change in Nagorno-Karabakh” aired by Euronews TV channel on November 28 was an attempt to mislead the world and European community by taking a biased approach to the causes and realities of the conflict in line with the position of the Armenian side,” the letter says.
According to the letter, the video presented Nagorno-Karabakh as “independent state”, Bako Saakian as the president of the “republic”. It even named Nagorno-Karabakh as the “heart” of Armenia, which does not have any overland link with the region.
The New Azerbaijan Party voiced its official protest, letting the Euronews know that Armenia occupied 20% (17.2 thousand sq. km) of Azerbaijani lands and created the terrorist-separatist regime there. The so-called “Nagorno-Karabakh state” was not of course recognized by any nation.
Such partial and provocative reports seriously damage the OSCE Minsk Group-mediated peace process and undermine peace and stability in the region.
The YAP urged the Euronews to be objective in such kind of sensitive matters as it can harm channel`s image.
