20 January tragedy in spotlight of Saudi Arabia's Al-Jazeera

The authoritative Saudi Arabia`s Al-Jazeera newspaper published an article highlighting the 20 January 20, 1990 tragedy.
The article emphasizes that the January 20 tragedy is forever left a trace in the national memory of the Azerbaijani people as "Black January", and that this year marks the 36th anniversary of those events.
It is reported that on the night of January 20, 1990, Soviet troops entered the city of Baku in an unprecedented military operation and committed violence against peaceful and unarmed civilians. More than 130 people were killed and hundreds were injured.
The article mentions that the Azerbaijani people commemorate January 20 every year as an eternal symbol of sacrifice and resistance. Thousands of people visit the Alley of Martyrs in Baku to honor those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and independence of the Motherland.
