ANNA GURBANOVA RANKS SIXTH IN DEVENTER GRAND PRIX

Azerbaijani rhythmic gymnast Anna Gurbanova ranked sixth with 97.6 points leaving Athens Games winners Simona Peycheva, Bulgaria and Svetlana Radalova, Belarus behind at the International Grand Prix tournament in Deventer, Holland. According to press-service of the Gymnastics Federation of Azerbaijan, Gurbanova was No 6 in exercises with hoop (24.450 points), ranked 7th in ball exercises (23.3) and 8th with clubs (24.225).

The press-service also announced that young Azerbaijani athletes would perform at the international competitions to be held from November 5 to 8 in Russia: Zulfiya Alyeva, 13, Aysel Huseynova, 13, Kristina Pavlunina, 13, Jeyla Gouliyeva, 12, Aziza Salimbekova, 12 and Jamilya Huseynova, 11 will compete in “Caspian Dawns” in Astrakhan, and Samira Aliyeva, 14, Zeynab Javadly, 13 and Migyar Mirzoyeva 12 - in Moscow “Golden Leafs 2004.”
