Azerbaijan, EU discuss cooperation prospects
Baku, March 2 (AZERTAC). Chairman of Azerbaijan`s Chamber of Accounts Heydar Asadov has met European Union responsible officer of the Macroeconomic Assistance Bureau Luca Oriani, and representative on cooperation with Azerbaijan Juergen Kettner.
Asadov pointed out that Azerbaijan pays a special attention to development of relationship between Azerbaijan and EU as part of Public Finance Policy Reforms Support programme. The sides noted that there is the need for additional information on management of components in the support program and their financial provision.
Speaking at the event, Oriani congratulated Asadov on 10th anniversary of Azerbaijan`s Chamber of Accounts. The EU representative recalled UN`s resolution on “Promoting the efficiency, accountability, effectiveness and transparency of public administration by strengthening supreme audit institutions” and stated that EU is interested in boosting ties with Azerbaijan`s Chamber of Accounts.
It was noted that EU representative responsible for the relevant issues is expected to visit Azerbaijan.
