`AZERBAIJANI FAMILY 2010` FILM FESTIVAL WRAPS UP
Baku, May 12 (AZERTAC). “The Azerbaijani family 2010” Short Film Festival wrapped up in Baku. Mrs. Hijran Huseynova, Chairperson of the State Committee on Family, Women and Children affairs of Azerbaijan addressing the closing ceremony emphasized that “for three years the festival dedicated to the International Family Day is being held under the motto “Healthy family is a basis of strong statehood”.
The festival is supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the United Nations Population Fund`s project “Against violence towards women in the 21 century” and joint project of United Nations Population Fund and the government of Norway “Against the violence towards women”.
“National leader Heydar Aliyev by the example of his family revealed the sanctity and firmness of the family traditions. Now President Ilham Aliyev successfully follows his political line. Also President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva`s efforts towards the advocacy of national traditions of the Azerbaijani people are obvious”, Hijran Huseynova said.
This year`s Festival also featured foreign filmmakers` works. The judges selected 30 films in 4 categories.
The winners in the categories “The best film”, “The best foreign film”, “The best TV program” and “The best student film” as well as the encouraging nomination “The best trailer” were awarded diplomas and gifts.
