Baku branch of Moscow State University hosts meeting with freshmen
Baku, August 14 (AZERTAC). The Baku branch of the Lomonosov Moscow State University on Tuesday hosted meeting with first-year students.
Addressing the event, rector of the university, Professor Nargiz Pashayeva congratulated the students of the Baku branch of the Moscow State University. Nargiz Pashayeva emphasized that 2012 was a special year in the life of the university. Pashayeva said that, this year, the university has awarded its first graduates, opened a new Faculty of Economics, and held admission for the next academic year.
"Here there are all conditions for obtaining a good education. Highly qualified teachers from Moscow lecture at our university. They arrive in Baku to help you become experts," Nargiz Pashayeva told students.
"Baku branch of the Moscow State University, in addition to knowledge, offers friendly atmosphere, mutual understanding. Today's world is full of disagreements and clashes of different nature. Science and culture can bring people together. I hope that you will always remember and put into practice this mission of the university. You will remember that the Baku branch of Moscow State University is the embodiment of friendship and cooperation between the Azerbaijani and Russian scientists,” said Nargiz Pashayeva.
The Rector also said that students will be offered a new campus in addition to the old one. The new campus has been already built and soon will be inaugurated.
According to Executive Secretary of the selection committee Alexey Popov, this year, 106 students of 289 who have applied, were admitted to the Baku branch of Moscow State University.
