Estonian newspaper publishes an article on Khojaly genocide
Tallinn, March 4 (AZERTAC). The Estonian newspaper Eesti Paevaleht has published an article entitled “Azerbaijani people remember Khojaly tragedy with a deep feeling of sorrow”.
The article, prepared within the framework of the 'Justice for Khojaly’ campaign, compares the Khojaly genocide with the mass murder taken place in Yugoslavia, in 1995. It narrates on the atrocities the Armenians committed against Azerbaijanis. Azerbaijanis will never forget this genocide. Only after nation-wide leader Heydar Aliyev’s return to power, he gave an objective political and legal assessment to the massacre at an international level. The government of Azerbaijan takes more organized measures on recognition of Khojaly genocide. In the article also were written the Estonia's well-known public and political figures’ thoughts.
Saying that the Khojaly tragedy is unforgettable, terrible and bloody day of Azerbaijan, Estonian deputy Andreas Herkel spoke about the consequences of the heinous crimes committed by the Armenians. He noted that Khojaly tragedy is one of the most bloody and horrific pages of the Karabakh war.
“Khojaly tragedy is the most horrible and terrible trial for Azerbaijani people. Azerbaijan is developing the right way and step-by-step raises its image in the international arena”, former President of Estonia, Arnold Ruutel said.
The article ends with the thought of Arnod Ruutel: “Let me express my sincere hopes that Azerbaijan can restore its territorial integrity. The only way to solve this problem is peace talks. Let us have strength to do it”.
