Azerbaijani scientists to join international scientific conference in Issyk-Kul region

Azerbaijani scientists will participate in an international scientific conference to be held on September 3 in Kyrgyzstan’s Issyk-Kul region as part of the 6th World Nomad Games.
According to Kabar, the conference is one of the key intellectual events of the World Nomad Games and aims to bring together members of the scientific community for a comprehensive study of the historical heritage, philosophy, culture, traditions, and contemporary development of nomadic civilizations.
The large-scale scientific forum will serve as an international platform for open academic dialogue, the exchange of cutting-edge scientific knowledge, and the strengthening of cooperation among research centers from different countries.
The conference reflects Kyrgyzstan’s consistent state policy of preserving, scientifically studying, and promoting the historical and cultural heritage of nomadic peoples internationally.
The scientific program of the World Nomad Games is aimed at developing nomadology as a modern interdisciplinary field of study, strengthening international scientific cooperation, and establishing a global research platform for the study of nomadic civilizations.
The conference will bring together leading scholars, researchers, experts, representatives of international organizations, higher education institutions, and research centers from approximately 30 countries, including Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, China, Azerbaijan, Türkiye, the United States, Austria, Uzbekistan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, India, Belgium, France, New Zealand, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Hungary, Ghana, Germany, Italy, Mongolia, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Poland, Slovenia, Sweden, Sri Lanka, and Iran.
Participants will discuss current issues related to the study of nomadic civilizations, their historical and cultural heritage, philosophy, traditions, and values, as well as modern approaches to the development of nomadology and interdisciplinary research.
Particular attention will be paid to expanding international scientific cooperation, developing joint research projects, promoting academic exchanges, and establishing new scientific ties among researchers and research centers from different countries.
The conference, held as part of the 6th World Nomad Games, will highlight not only the sporting and cultural significance of the Games, but also their scientific and intellectual dimensions, creating opportunities for a deeper scholarly understanding of the civilizational legacy of nomadic peoples.
The opening ceremony of the conference will take place on September 3, 2026, at the Kurmanjan Datka Center for Nomadic Civilization in the village of Ornok in the Issyk-Kul region.
The conference is expected to make an important contribution to the development of international scientific dialogue, the strengthening of academic cooperation, and the advancement of the scientific study of nomadic civilizations as an important part of the world’s historical and cultural heritage.
