Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships flag handed over to Azerbaijan

The closing ceremony of the 42nd World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships was held in Frankfurt.
As part of the ceremony, the World Championships flag was handed over by the German delegation to World Gymnastics and subsequently passed to Azerbaijan, the host of the next edition of the competition.
The presentation of the flag was accompanied by a symbolic ceremony marking Azerbaijan as the host of the 43rd Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships, which will be held in Baku from September 15 to 19, 2027.
Both this year’s World Championships and the 2027 edition in Baku will serve as qualification events for the Olympic Games. The Baku event will provide more gymnasts with an opportunity to secure Olympic berths in both individual and group competitions, making it one of the key milestones on the road to the Games.
As a result, Azerbaijan will take center stage in world gymnastics, not only as the host of the World Championships, but also as the venue for a crucial stage in the Olympic qualification process.
