‘Factors that cause damage to Azerbaijan`s ecology must be prevented’

“Our demand is to prevent the factors that cause damage to the ecology and nature of Azerbaijan,” a participant of the protests, organized by a group of Azerbaijani ecologists and representatives of NGOs on the Lachin-Shusha road against the illegal exploitation of natural resources in the territories of Azerbaijan, where the Russian peacekeeping contingent is temporarily deployed, Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Ganja” Sports Club Elvar Osmanov has told AZERTAC.
Emphasizing that the looting of Azerbaijan`s wealth must be stopped, Osmanov said: "It is necessary for Commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent General Andrei Volkov to meet with the participants of the protest. We demand a fair assessment of the current ecological situation in accordance with the norms of the environmental legislation of Azerbaijan. During the years of occupation, Armenia has committed ecocide in our lands. We appeal to the world community not to remain indifferent to these cases."
