FAO to open contact office in Moscow

Russia and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) have agreed to open a FAO contact office in Moscow, the Russian Foreign Ministry has said.
The official ceremony of signing an agreement between the Russian Government and FAO was held at the FAO headquarters in Rome.
The agreement was signed by Russia's permanent representative to FAO and other international organizations Alexander Gorban and FAO Director-General Jose Graziano da Silva.
“The goal of the Office is to boost FAO cooperation with relevant Russian agencies, industry associations, agricultural business and the scientific community and to develop with Russia joint projects in various areas,” the ministry said.
