International Anti-Corruption Academy hails Azerbaijan`s achievements

Baku, February 15 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov met with the visiting delegation headed by chair of the International Transition Team of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) Martin Kreutner on Tuesday.

Garalov informed the delegation on the legal-judicial system, organization of new court system, amendments to the legislature.

The Prosecutor General highlighted also activity of the Anti-Corruption Department of the General Prosecutor`s Office of Azerbaijan stressing the importance of the memorandum of understanding signed between the department and the Information and Cooperation Network of NGOs involved in the fight against corruption.

The Azeri prosecutor noted that the country made the decision to ink an agreement on establishment of IACA as an international organization.

Martin Kreutner highly appreciated the progress achieved in the relevant sphere in the country praising the cooperation between Azerbaijan Republic and the International Anti-Corruption Academy.

He also expressed his assurance that the agreement would contribute to bilateral relations and the fight against corruption.

Martin Kreutner said that the Academy`s agreement was clinched by 55 countries.

The sides also exchanged views on the issues of mutual interest.
