PRESIDENT OF LITHUANIA AWARDED HONORARY DOCTORATE BY BAKU STATE UNIVERSITY
At the degree awarding ceremony, Abel Maharramov, BSU rector, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences, Milli Majlis member, welcomed the Lithuanian President, updated ceremony participants on Valdas Adamkus’ biography and political activity and told of the history of the Baku State University.
Then, Abel Maharramov read out academic council’s decision awarding Valdas Adamkus an honorary doctorate and presented the diploma of doctor to him.
President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus shared his impressions on his official visit to Azerbaijan and meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. He also expressed confidence that after this visit bilateral relations with Azerbaijan will expand in all spheres including science and education.
