Representatives of Yahad – In Unum visits Baku Slavic University
Baku, February 24 (AZERTAC). Representatives of the Paris-based Yahad - In Unum organization have visited the Baku Slavic University where they met with philology and journalism departments.
Addressing the event president of Yahad - In Unum Father Patrick Desbois noted that the aim of the visit to the country is to provide more information about the Jewish Holocaust committed in the World war II and the Khojaly tragedy of the Azerbaijani people late in the 20th century in worldwide.
The delegation was also informed that the photo exhibition organized by the European Azerbaijan Society on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide of the French photographer Frederique Lengaigne is underway in Baku.
The exhibition is also expected to be organized in Brussels, Strasbourg and Paris. The event will last 4 days.
Yahad-In Unum is the leading research organization investigating the mass executions of 1.5 million Jews and Roma/Gypsy people in Eastern Europe between 1941 and 1944. This is sometimes referred to as “The Holocaust by Bullets”. The team of Yahad - In Unum travels from village to village, where they interview and film the surviving eyewitnesses, using testimony of witnesses to discover the locations of the graves. Established in 2004, Yahad - In Unum has located a lot of mass graves in more than 600 cities of Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and Poland.
