Results of competition for CIS journalists declared
Baku, December 21 (AZERTAC). Results of the competition of journalists from the CIS countries on the theme of preservation of historical and cultural heritage: monuments of material and non-material culture, sites of ancient settlement, historical and cultural reserves, national-applied creativity, have been declared.
The competition conducted by the Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency - AZERTAC in the frame of the Plan of priority actions in sphere of humanitarian cooperation of the CIS states for 2011-2012s, started on March 12.
132 works of journalists from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine have been presented on competition.
Competitive works have been estimated jointly by authoritative international juries consisting of 5 employees of leading news agencies of the CIS (ITAR-TASS, BELTA, Ukrinform, Kazinform and AZERTAC) countries. The chairman of jury is General Director AZERTAC Aslan Aslanov.
Following the results of competition, winners have been defined. The first place was awarded to the head of department of science, education and public health of the newspaper of the Cabinet of the Republic of Uzbekistan “"Pravda Vostoka” Ramil Islamov for article “Treasury of Uncommonness” and a cycle of works about traditions and culture of Uzbekistan. The second place was given to the editor of Azerbaijan news portal Aze.Az Nadia Kafarova for interview “Tagiyev: Probably, we are on the threshold of archaeological sensation”. The third place was taken by the editor-in-chief of the political newspaper “Volyn Times” (Volynskaya Oblast, Ukraine) Irina Kuninets for article “The Roundabout of Life”
