UN Deputy Secretary-General hails Azerbaijan's reconstruction process
Baku, May 22, AZERTAC
“Azerbaijan’s reconstruction, sustainable peace, and development process in its territories stands as a model in terms of infrastructure restoration, reintegration, and unlocking economic potential,” said UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed during the official closing press conference of the 13th session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13).
According to her, the world is currently facing multiple interconnected crises, such as climate change, conflict, inequality, housing insecurity, and rising debt pressures. These problems limit the financial capacity of states, making it difficult to invest in affordable housing, sustainable infrastructure, and basic services. The forum once again demonstrated the important role of multilateral cooperation, multi-level governance, and local action.
